I got this error on one of a few systems where I installed Avast 5 last week. I thought all was well the day I installed it but the next day Avast wouldn't start successfully -- had a small "stop" symbol on the task tray orange ball -- and right-clicking gave the "AAVM subsystem detected ..." message.
I made an attempt to uninstall but the Add/Remove Programs function wouldn't open the list of installed programs.
I searched this forum for the error message but found nothing recent. On the other hand, I found the Avast 5 removal tool link so something must be up. I saved the tool on my laptop (not an Avast 5 problem) to take to the failing computer later today.
Also I noticed that there was an automation program version update on another computer with Avast 5. Does that fix the problem I got after installing "too early" last week. Thank you.
