How to turn off 5.0?

How do I turn off 5.0 and remove the shield from the tray?

Is uninsatllling the program the only way to turn off and remove the icon from the tool tray?

Try right clicking on the tray and select "Properties" then under "Notification Area" select customize, Find avast and change it to "Hide icon and notifications" or "show only notifications" if you still wish to receive info on it updates and stuff that it finds without having to manually open the UI.
