Beta 2 is (finally) here

At last, here's the beta 2. It is much better than beta 1 (countless number of bugs was fixed) so I recommend everyone to go for it asap...

One (major) caveat: update from beta-1 to beta-2 does not work. Sorry (I hope you can live with that). For more info, please see the website or the readme file.

Unfortunately - yes.
In fact, that's the only thing that cannot be updated. The files are OK but the database structure changed a lot and we'd have to write migration tools from the beta-1 format - which we found quite time-consuming and probably not really needed anyway... (I mean something you'll probably tolerate since it was a beta-1 release)..
