M$ Update Query

im wondering if any of the resident guru`s might run thier discerning eye over this error log report from ms update and tell me what ive done wrong and what i now gotta do to be considered worthy of installing this update ::)================================================================================

It simply appears that the download failed.

Try a different file download site or reboot computer and try again.

You did not appear to have done anything wrong.

Where are you getting the download from?
What specifically are you updating......SP2 Windows or are you attempting to do a Windows Update?

its an update /patch released on 10/6/04 from ms update and i have d/loaded it to h/d then tried to install but no dice as you can see

As far as pre-requisites are concerned, the only thiong that comes to mind would be that the update is not for your version of windows.

If it is a critical update I would suggest that you read the relevant security bulletin for pre-requisites/aplicable patches, etc.

If it is still relevant then you could try an install from the windows update site.

and to finish the instructions, allow Windows to do the install. there is no reason to download it to your computer. That in itself, could be part of the problem.
