Hi YoKenny,

But sometimes a good joke is needed to get users off of IE6, and if posting this helped in some way, it is a good thing, don't you think.
And again I agree with you that IE can be made secure, but then people should know what to do. How long does it take for the general public to be aware that a non-patched, non-updated, non-genuine Windows OS with full admin rights and a browser a la default is NOT the way to go, means a security risk for others, and will render a computer for them that can only function further as a "door stopper" maybe.

Again there are also parties that won't encourage them to get any wiser, because they can earn huge sums of money from these ignorent masses. It is a sad situation, and here on the forums I do what I can to improve that situation, but it is like carrying water to the sea sometimes,

your friend,

@ polonus

How do you make IE 6 secure?
Step 1 would be to update it to IE8.
Step 2 would be to stop using it.  ;D

Hi Chris Thomas,

There are a couple of measures to make old IE more secure:

Use Spyware Blaster 4.2 http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Use KlikSafe:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,25644-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html

Use IE strip my rights: http://www.sysint.no/Default.aspx?alias=www.sysint.no/en

and if the windows won't behave: IE New Window Maximizer from: http://find.pcworld.com/48598

Check your zone settings with this: http://blogs.technet.com/fdcc/archive/2009/10/01/viewing-and-comparing-ie-security-zone-settings.aspx
IE zone analyzer, download from: http://blogs.technet.com/fdcc/attachment/3292122.ashx

This may cure a severe case of "insecuritus browseritis IE6",

There is no safe browser but IE6 has had its day so for the people that can not upgrade to IE8 then there is another answer.
