Yes. It is not wist to run 2 on access scanners at the same time. they will have conflicts. Choose avast or AVG.

avast is compatible with AVG 7.0 Professional. I tried twice: first one with a lot of troubles (even blue death screen!). The second, works perfectly. I installed avast first, disable with RejZoR's avast External Control application and then installed AVG.

avast is definetivelly not compatible with AVG 6.0 at Windows XP.  8)

AVG is the worst free antivirus.  Its realtime scanner seems substandard, and the way it deals with infected files is atrocious.

C'mon, AVG is not that bad...In fact I'd say it's OK. Of course, AVG6 is a 5-years old product so you have to rate it with this in mind... :-\

Version 7 is ok,but its still not the "it" thing. And it died simply after first update. Strange...

I have to agree with you, I preferred AVG to Norton but, neither of them come even close to Avast! ::)

I used to use AVG. Not so bad product as lots of you guys think it is... version I was using is freeware, so stuff like that is always welcome, we all know that, we don't have to pretend...

But, Iceman62... having two antiviruses running in the same time on your system is definitely not good idea... why one would need anything aside avast! ? OK, maybe one of those free online scanners (Housecall or something else)...

Let your avast! copy do the job for you... you will be surprised !

Cheers !

RejZoR. That happens to me once.
avast installed. Tryed AVG 7.0 over it. After the first update... Crash, blue death screen.
Tried a second time. Than, still avast installed, AVG 7.0 worked...

Besides the fact is a Czech produtc, no comparison posible.
AVG 6.0 free is outdated. Poor interface, worse updates, no posible configurations...
There is not a chance to compare with avast.

(Bob, I feel bad when we are compared to NAV, it get me sick  :P Using Vlk's phrase: C'mon, avast! is not that bad as NAV...  ;D)

That's not a comparison. That's a fact. Avast is the best AV program that I've ever used.

Ditto,  I have used every free one, Kaspersky, Trend Micro, Norton, BitDefender.  Both Trend and Norton MISSED THINGS!  Avast found them.  BitDefender just plain sucked hardcore.  Kaspersky was ok, but it was looked like the interface was designed by a highschool student.
However, NOD32 looks neat, and am planing on trying it
