@ fire

What original box that opens when I run a virus scan?

See the pic of avast! Quick scan from my Windows 7 system or do you mean MBAM Quick scan?

Go back and read my post:

Kenny I was referring to the box thats pictured in this thread a few posts ago,,(one of your posts) its no big thing,,think its called a "skin",,I couldn't remember that name yesterday,,anyway the original "skin" that came with Advast when I first started using it was the one your showing,,I always liked that one but no longer have it. I went to a web site and just found a different one I use but I'd rather have that back. BTW all,,I finally broke down and installed 5.0 today,,but did it over 4.8,,,,,everything looks good so far.

That is the Simple User Interface, used to run on-demand scans, which uses skins to change the display format.

If you have two blue balls, you have been out in the cold too long or are still running avast 4.8 as it is 5.0 that has the change of avast icon.

Wow!  Why has avast not updated itself?  Is this something I need to do manually?  ...I will...

There is a rolling notification for users of 4.8 to update to 5.0, with over 100 million users they have to balance the server load.

You can of course download the latest avast 5.0.418 and install it.

Would that be your recomendation?  It seems as if some folks are resentful of their choice to update...

There are always some that are apposed to change.
IMHO, the only ones who can't update are those running an operating system before Windows XP.
Any one who uses windows XP and above should be using avast! 5. You get a lot more for the same price.... FREE
