FREE anti Spyware / Malware Programs.

Hello again,

Please could you kindly advise me thank you in advance.

Can anyone please tell me or advise me of the BEST FREE Antispyware / Malware program to work alongside Avast 5?
I know of Spybot Search And Destroy but are there any other Free spyware / Malware programs I could use?

I know that Avast has Antispyware / Malware built in, so could I rely on Avast alone to protect me from Spyware / Malware as well as Viruses?

those are the best nowadays

I use them both and while you're at it add SpywareBlaster.

Be sure to keep all of these programs updated. The first two update daily.

Check my signature as those programs have worked perfectly for me for at least the past 6 years.

Note: MBAM is my on-demand anti-spyware while Spybot - S&D is my resident scanner.

Read about Spybot S&D

I don't think Spybot is, today, a good choice. Personal opinion. Here's why : Spybot has been for a long time a reference (like ad-aware), when the first malwares (they were called "spywares", at the time) appeared. This was the beginning, when fixing a HijackThis line or deleting a single registry key and file coiuld stop infections. Spybot used at the early stages a simple and efficient technique to identify infections, based on file and registry key locations. So it scanned for infection a, then b, then c and if the infection was found, you could delete it. It worked great.
