Hi to all;

I have upgraded to new avast! 5, and it is non commercial, free version.
Current version is 5.0.418
My email client is Mozilla Tunderbird 3.0.1

i have troubles to use email client when real-time email scanner is turned on! I tried to change some options in advance settings but without success. When i hit "get mail" button client cant open connection to the mail servers. When i turn off the mail shield connection with the servers resumes and everything works fine?

Can someone help me with this?
Thank all in advance, every suggestion is welcome!

Are you using a mail server that requires SSL like gmail?  Under mail shield/expert settings, what does it say under SSL accounts?

I use Thunderbird version 3.0.1 in Windows XP Pro SP3 and have several POP3 accounts plus an IMAP account (Gmail) and did not have the problem mentioned above.

Which makes this problem even harder to solve as it may depend of a bunch of other factors not easily identified.

Yeah i think servers required SSL encryption. I have chosen SSL in the advance settings and everything is working fine now.
It was set to ''none'' before!
