There was never a fixed date given other than estimated September/October, the 64bit boot-time scan is a planned part of avast 5.1 but it isn't the only thing in 5.1.
The first indication that you are likely to get is notification of a beta release in the forums, so keep monitoring the forums, the beta notification is likely to be a sticky topic in this forum.
