avast 5 and VPS update

Hi Vlk,

Whether avast engine influenced VPS update?

Because one of our user, which already using avast 5.0.396 and since he tried to download VPS engine from website. Did the manual update, with klik VPS file then from avast show notification like :

Can't instal VPS update. please report following errorcodes:
Ver:5.0.396
SI: 0x00000002
ST:0xFFFFFFFE
LE:0x000000000


What is the causes of the problem?

Why don't you upgrade to the final 5.0.418 version?

Hi, I downloaded and installed the last version 5.0.418, and I tried to install de VPS update in my PC but a message appeared:

Can't install VPSupdate, please report following errorcodes:
Ver:5.0.418
SI:0x00000002
ST:0xFFFFFFFE
LE:0x00000000


So, where and who a can report this, and what I can do for updating the antivirus.

If somebody know please tell me how. Thanks

None of the above does not work!
What helped me: I completely removed Avast! and reinstall it. After this base was updated without errors.

 ??? tech is there another way of downloading vsp? ??? ::) why they said install ??? im thinking that if updating is one touch. they telling something downloading and installing. ???
