HELP PLS no internet connection, no avast ERROR 74.86.125.43:80
« on: February 19, 2010, 02:41:28 PM »
I purchased Avast Internet Security 5.3
Every time I install it says:
Cannot connect to download927.avast.com (74.86.125.43:80)
I've tried over 10 times!!!!!!!!!!
Furthermore..when avast says everything´s fine, It doesn't let me connect to the internet. Web Lock is set to OFF and Avast says I am connected to the internet but there's NO single way I can browse
So I paid and have to protection at all because I need to work connected.
I use Windows 7 64 bits

Please can anybody help me, please?

Whilst this sounds like firewall blocking, I would have thought AIS would allow its own processes access, but perhaps not.

Does it allow avast.setup and avastSvc.exe internet access ?
- If it does delete the entry for them and do a manual update from the UI and reconnect to the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

AIS allow avast processes to connect by default.
Do you use any hosts (or, better, is your hosts file infected)?

The problem seemed to be related to some files of the Norton Internet Security which came with the PC I bought and did not uninstall as expected.

I could get avast free trial to work and I can connect to the internet. No more server errors. :)

The only problem I could not solve is that my license file is not being recognized.
AIE says I was upgraded but due dates for the software don't change. Is this okay?

Thank you for your help
