Avast won't do automatic updates anymore
« on: February 25, 2010, 04:58:19 PM »
Running Avast free ver. 5.0.418. Up until the last two weeks automatic updates worked perfectly. It has since stopped working. Would anyone have a solution or suggestions concerning this?
Thanks! Peace.........

Do the manual updates via the UI work  ?
If not what errors are you getting ?

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Which firewall do you use?
Can you set Updates > Proxy to "no proxy" at all and test?

I see that you now have more than 20 posts which will permit you to update your profile to include signature information.

Go to PROFILE then Modify Profile then Forum Profile Information then Signature: and put information about your system just like my signature to enable the helpers offer pertinent advice.

In Account Related Settings select Hide email address from public to prevent scammers and spammers harvesing your Hotmail email address.

I will modify my signature very soon. Thanks for the responses meantime. I can do manual updates with or without changing the proxy settings. I am also using Zone Alarm free as my firewall.
Peace..........
