Too bad avast! does not offer a similar avast! Pro 5 3-User upgrade for 4.8 Home users who do not want/need the firewall and spam features of AIS. (Most of the other major AVs offer a 3-User license)  

Being there's no avast! Pro 3-User upgrade option, would consider AIS only if AIS allow users to totally disable the firewall and spam? -- i.e., does not load any additional services for firewall and spam.

FYI using Pro 5 on one system, 4.8 Home on two other systems (all Win XP Pro SP3).

Basicly Avast! 5 Pro + Anti Spam + Firewall = Avast! 5 Internet Security. But you don't have to disable anything. With the installer you can choose what to install, and what not

G'day!

I've tryd to upgade to Avast pro form Avast free, but there's an error in the uninstallation;

it removes the free version and when it installs the pro version it says there no free version on my cpc to verify my discount.

The Avast Holland helpdesk appears to be on holliday, they haven't replyed in a week!

any ideas?

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

1. Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
2. Download the latest avast! version and save it.
3. Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can't run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
4. Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1. If, for any reason, you can't run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after you've run it.
5. Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
6. Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro.
7. Check and post the results.

Although there is one issue

In AIS : Site Blocking ( or URL Blocking ) is in the Antispam & Blockers Menu. So if you choose NOT to install the Antispam, I don't know what happens to Site Blocking At least Site Blocking is no option in the installer menu. I am sorry I didn't mention it earlier

No problem. Just verified from the Pro 5 Help, and looking at options in current Pro 5's settings, Site Blocking only available with AIS.

However find it interesting that the Site Blocking is in the AIS Antispam Filter's "Expert settings", and not in the AIS Firewall's settings. 

I have Online Armor (premium) on my three systems, and can use it to block unwanted sites.

Per your signature, are you using Sandboxie instead of avast!'s Sandbox?

Site Blocking is indeed not in the Firewall Menu. It is in the Antispam & Blockers menu where it is a separate item. About the Avast! Sandbox, I test it now only for browser virtualisation. Sandboxie ( paid ) is more configurable, so I keep it for program/malware virtualisation
