avastsvc.exe constantly downloading something [free]

I see in resource manager that avast is downloading something, but i don't know what. How can I view what it is downloading? I cannot find any interface that could tell me why it is downloading megabytes from internet clogging my connection.

Well avast doesn't download anything of its own accord, the avastSvc.exe is the main avast service and controls all the resident scanners so if you are browsing or using P2P, etc. all that traffic has to be scanned through the avast localhost proxy, so that may be the traffic you see.
