Errors :(
« on: March 07, 2010, 08:16:36 AM »
Hi, I did a system scan and found a virus. I tried to repair it and I got an error "Error: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process(32)" so i tried to move it to the virus chest and I get another error "Error: There is not enough space on the disk (112). I have 90.7GB free of 199gb. any suggestions?

What is the full name and path of the file, its size, and what does Avast detect it as?
What is you OS and Avast version, and what other security software is installed?

I guess you intentionally downloaded or otherwise installed Putty?
There is a chance it's a FP.
Please stop any programs that may be using it, and exit out of it (Putty) if running, then move it to the chest under "user files" or allow Avast to quarantine it. check that the chest maximum size limit is not set to be too low for it to be moved there.
Right click on the file, and send it to Alwil under the report false positive option. If it is a false positive, Alwil are fairly quick about correcting such detections. Re-scan it periodically from the chest and when/if it scans clear, it can be restored.

Get a second opinion. (This is a good demand scanner to have, anyway.)
Download and install the free version of MBAM. Update it and right-click the file for a context-menu scan with MBAM.
This will give an indication.

Tenga, if I remember correctly, is a file infector (well, maybe I should say "was", because it appeared years ago).
So I doubt it's a false positive.
