figured out what was making shields go down for me

on the system in question. the update settings. yup. if i changed it to 60 or 120 from 240min intervals it would end up turning off the shields after a few hours. i can actually replicate it now on this system. at the default 240 no issues. if i change it i will come back to all shields down. not sure what is going on but i also tried a fresh install with the same result..

Interesting. Have you played with other settings on the Update page, or are they on defaults?

If you go to C:\ProgramData\ALWIL Software\Avast5\Log, are there any files called unpxxxx.mdmp? If so, can you please send them to me? (e.g. by email)

Thanks
