Avast.setup.application error
« on: March 08, 2010, 01:26:26 PM »
Current version 5.0.418.

Occasionally the following error message will appear at window log in screen :-

 Avast.Setup.Application error

The instruction at "0x7c918fea" referenced memory at "0x01cabebe".
The memory could not be "written"

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCELL to debug the program

What does this mean ? and what should I do ?
Normally I will just turn off and restart the computer, then every thing goes well.

Sorry I haven't come across it before.

If it happens again - Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
