The cycle is now set to 12 hours as opposed to 7 days
Many thanks. This makes the update process even more reliable.

You can download the full 5.0.462 installer and it will allow you to update.
Vlk, won't you release the beta or RC through the *beta.exe update anymore?
It allowed incremental updates and also returns to the official stream automatically. It was a very smart and convenient method...

Using the Free Version and Updated Program from "Maintenance" to v 5.0.462 from v 5.0.418 with no problems.

I did do 2 re-starts as avast failed to show in the task bar after the first reboot. Could of been due to my Online Armor not recognizing the later version after upgrading. All seems well now with new permissions to the firewall.

Thanks to the team for doing an outstanding job.

No problems here after update that I could see,

But does the text look a little smaller in the GUI compared to previous versions of Avast 5 to you guys?  What has changed with the GUI?

Is that new 12 hour cycle only for Avast 5.0.462 and above?  Or for all previous Avast versions, including 4.8?

I really like the earlier notifications!  This will help users keep Avast as current as possible.

bug: if you delete a network in the firewall expert settings. its GONE. it will not ask you next time you log onto that same account. tried on 4 different machines and its the same way im talking about in the firewall expert settings the auto network selections. i had to delete one due to replacing a router and i used the same name for the new network. i had a issue with the new router so i went back to the old one but it does not ask any longer now for the old network and it is no longer on the list either so i have to now manually make sure its selected. and YES  i uninstalled with the uninstall tool and fully reinstalled and its the same way.

also still the bug with the firewall not remembering deleted programs. once you remove a program it no longer will add it again the next time it tries to connect it just lets it right through not cool imo..

This new version does not communicate with avast! WHS Edition everytime one machine still greyed out of three.
So its not fixed fully and bug still exists  >:(

I've been watching the forum for about a month (maybe two months) and decided today to go ahead and upgrade to avast 5.0.462 from vers 4.8.  Glad to report that it went fine.  I just 'double clicked' on the downloaded application for 5.0.462 and it stopped ver 4.8 from running and installed. I did however have to be reboot twice for all of my icons to show up on my system tray... and for a manual update of virus definitions and engine to work. After a second reboot of system, all seems normal.  After first reboot, the speaker icon was missing and manual update didn't work.

Also, looks like program registration continued from earlier version.  I tested my DSL (lite) speed and it seems normal.

Way to go Alwil team!!  Thanks for your service.

Getting Package is Broken for both updates - Defs. and Programme.

During the attempts the d/l 'speed' is no higher than 3kB/s, so nothing useful can have been transferred.

OK, tried again via Update and it worked perfectly. Running smoothly and no problems so far.

Thank you.

Hm, AVAST is not automatically upgrading and show me not a POPUP above a new version, although I have the preferences so. (German Version).

I think, it is a bug.

Oh, and my english is terrible! SORRY GUYS!

Just installed the New Version 5.0.462.on my new laptop, Windows 7 Premium with no apparent problems. I was using MSE but shut it down. Does anyone know if they will play togeather or should I leave MSE shut down?
