Avast not covering other users on my XP computer?
« on: March 09, 2010, 04:42:20 PM »
Newbie question that I could not find the answer to in the forum search...I have an XP with SP2 computer and each one of my children having their own account on this PC but when they log on, the Avast icon does not appear to be covering them.  Is there a setting that will automatically set Avast to cover / protect all users on my XP PC?  Thanks in advance for any help, John

I suppose the children do not have admin rights...
avast automatically protects all accounts in the computer.
Also, the icon should be there.
Maybe log with admin rights and repair your avast installation (Control Panel).

Welcome  jhart1a

Windows XP Service Pack 3 has been available for over a year and a half that provides many Critical Updates and performance improvements.

Go to Control Panel then Automatic Updates then select Automatic (recommended) or at least Notify me but don't automatically download or install them.

Updating to SP3 will provide more security for all your children as well as you.

Go to Secunia Online Software Inspector then run it to see what other applications are vulnerable:
