Don't know if this is correct place to ask for help on this problem , but here goes .
Looking for a bit of advice re. Windows Mail which I have been using for a few years now with no probs .I am using Vista Home Premium , Service pack 2. On the last few days on opening to check mail , I get a box on screen saying,

Would you like to go off line ?

No connection to the internet is currently available. To view internet content that has been saved on your computer click work offline.
Click try again to attempt to connect.

When I click box , mail downloads as normal.

Don't know why this message has started to appear  all seems to be o.k apart from this .

Sorry I couldn't help I don't use Windows Mail.

You could share the solution, which would nicely conclude this topic and possibly help anyone searching in the future.

Winston5998,
I too had the same problem but resolved it by doing this
below:
Open WM, go to Tools, then accounts, then select your email account, go to
properties, then to connection. Check the box that says "always connect to
this account using," Local Area Network!

Hope this helps.
Katrina.

thought the same, question was asked, solved somewhere else, topic remains, sharing the solution for those interested would be nice  ;) I don't use Windows Mail either (how could I anyway, it's been removed in Win7), but I use Windows Live Mail, and may be you (the OP) should upgrade  ;)

edit: ok, cross-posting, you posted the solution while I was writing :)

If its good for DavidR an avast! Überevangelist then its good for me.

Go to PROFILE then Modify Profile then Forum Profile Information then Signature: and put information about your system if you like just like my signature so that the helpers can offer pertinent answers.

I use Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 but not Windows Mail on my XP Pro system.
