If avast detects something like this : Win32:Trojan-gen. {VC}, Win32:Trojan-gen. {UPX!}, Win32:Trojan-gen. {Other}, Trojan-gen. {Delphi}, VBS:Malware [Html], VBS:Generic-Copy, VBS:Malware [Encrypted], these mean that avast uses something called " Generic detection " to identify malware so you will never know its specific name that I think sometimes it makes thing so difficult to deal with what avast calls " Trojan-gen. {UPX!} ". ???

If you want to know that other antivirus calls what avast calls " Trojan-gen. {UPX!} you have to use the following online scanners.

Kaspersky : http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus.html
Dr.Web : http://www.dials.ru/english/www_av/
RAV : http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/indexn.php
