avast boot scan and OAfree (solved)
« on: March 13, 2010, 12:32:18 AM »
this is the problem that cropped up the other day.

The request to scan was not successful because OA was not there. I turn on OA and the scan is successful msconfig or not. When I was trying to install device, I should have turned OA straught back on, once I saw its wasnt blocking anything.

actual not solved yet

the request probably wasn't made, the OA flag didn't come up because OA was turned off, so goes direct into Restart. But didn't I just send a command to AvastSvc to schedule a bootscan? Yes I did.

It does on one computer but I set learn mode there. I think if I keep it on learn for a while.

The problem if it is such is that its strange to send a command to avast and then watch it go through to the desktop without a boot scan. but in every other sense problem solved.
