need help removing virus
« on: July 02, 2004, 10:23:16 PM »
while doing a scan today, it says it discovered the following:
Win32:Ruledor [Trj]
c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\c14b2s.dll\[UPX]
VPS version:   0427-1, 07/02/2004

when I select "delete", it tells me that the virus was not deleted....access denied

so where do I go from here?

You should be fine with doing there online search, i use it as a second opinon after avast.

hopefully that helps

P.S. You will have to copy and paste it into your browser bar because it wont let me post the whole link.

Delete should always be your last choice. (total delete)
1st repair 2nd put into chest
If you delete the file, it's gone. it cant be sent to avast for analysis and, it can't be restored if it turns out to be a false positive.
Once the file is in the virus chest, it's safely tucked out of harms way.
I hope this helps. :)

You can try the avast boot-time scan first.  :)
