I don't subscribe either -- like most of us, I use the default settings of automatic for defs and notify-only for program updates.
Does your mailer program have a provision for handling junk mail? That might be a useful temporary work-around, until Alwil finishes their website work, and would probably be easier to undo when appropriate than blocking it at the ISP (or webmail) server level. I use Thunderbird, which has the ability (optional) to learn what you consider junk, and which also has a provision for cleaning out all junk-mail rules and re-learning from scratch.
