So, I have tried to install the software about 8x now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Previously had MacAfee, but removed from Control Panel/Add Remove Programs which brought up their uninstall task. I have downloaded from CNET as well as AV directly but with no difference.
My error message is "C\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\AvastUI.exe. The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."
Can anyone please help me? Running XP...thanks
