(FILE) vcorp.dll (VIRUS) win32:malware-gen
« on: March 24, 2010, 07:03:36 AM »
Hi! Gud day to all.... I would be needing your help on a virus that was detected on my laptop today. BTW I'm using Avast 4.8 Professional running under a Windows 7 Ultimate. The file which I'm referring to vcorp.dll which is a .dll file for a game and is located (C:\Program Files\LORDS MU Season 4 Full 3D) and is getting a virus (win32:malware-gen).

I tries to reinstall the program on the same drive (C:/) and on a secondary drive (d:/) and got the same error during the installation and caused two files to be saved in the Virus Chest.

I tried to install and run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware unfortunately it didn't detect the said virus.

I have no idea now how the malware can be remove.  If any of you guys have any idea on how this can be remove, kindly let me know and advise me on how to. I would really appreciate any response / suggestions  on this matter

Looking forward to any quick response to this matter.

Thanks.

Yam

Open the chest, right click the file and choose > send to virus lab
Mention you think it is a false positive.

Once it has been done, when do you think it will take effect? Do i have to do anything after sending it and treating it as FALSE POSITIVE?

They will analyze the file and if it is indeed a false positive they will solve it as soon as possible in the vps.
Just have a little patience.

It is time to update avast. 5.0.462 is currently the latest version.
Could very well be the problem is already solved.
You can always add the file(s) to the exclusion list.
But I advise only to do so if the game you have is fully legitimate.
No (pirated) copy.

Hello,
some similar (maybe the same) false positive was fixed in new VPS (100324-0). Can you confirm that this solved your problem?

Please start a New Topic of your own as this seems unrelated to the original subject and will just confuse the topic and we will try to help.
- Go to this link, http://forum.avast.com/index.php Select the Viruses and Worms forum and click it, click the New Topic button (see image, click to expand) at the top of the list and post there.

I suggest you remove your email from public display unless you particularly like spam as it may be harvested by a spambot.

Maybe the " New Topic button " should be changed in the new forum look, a big red blinking button on top that is impossible to not see ?
