Exploit detected!
« on: April 08, 2010, 08:36:14 PM »
An exploit has been detected by Avast! 5.0.462. It is bieng occassionally detected during the last 15 days, mostly when I visit the Avira Support Forum as you ca see from the attached picture below. What is happening and is my computer at risk?

Is it your Windows fully updated?
Do you use Windows Firewall?

Well the IP address doesn't belong to the avira site:

IP:      75.168.24.175
Domain:   qwest.net

So it is possibly something that someone has posted on the site or rather in something in your inbox, which has that link and port which isn't normally used other than for exploits.

See http://www.grc.com/port_445.htm, if your OS is XP SP1 or later then that LSASS Vulnerability has bee closed so your system should be safe from the Exploit but it doesn't stop them trying.
