BUG in avast 4.8 and 5 - data disappears
« on: March 31, 2010, 04:59:49 PM »
Data entered into my family tree program (Generations Grand Suite) dissapears when I tab to the next entry or save the record. I can tediously work around this bug by pressing the carriage return key after each entry. Anyone got a more permanent fix for this bug?

The bug is there only when Avast is running.

What edition of avast! - Free / Pro / IS? Do you have the latest build (of avast! 5)?
I'm afraid it might be a problem to find the problem (on our side) - without having that particular family tree program...

I have the free edition. If I could prevent avast from automatically reinstating itself in the Start up in msconfig, it might fix the problem. I know it would not enable avast on start up, but I could start the program from the start menu instead. Is there an option to not have avast in start up?

no! and it's good that way!
but you can disable avast 4 some time, if u use the other prog.
if u do so... i wouldn't make any inet-connections and b sure ur system is clean b4.
