Personally, I think both are great.  I use Avast 5 for realtime detections and Avira only for on-demand scans.  The best combo on the market.  ;D

At least those two versions are very close. Don't know exactly the AntiVir Premium.

I was looking the Spanish forum of avira, and the members of their community are saying to the users with Problems with Avira 10

"Now the problem is in the product, better if you use avast! free"  ;D

The solution for all the problems with avira 10 are use avast 5!!

greetings  ;)

The reason i switched to avast! 5 was because avira antivir 10 won't auto update the VDFs itself after upgraded from version 9 and i personally believed that the new version (10) has some bugs. In the end no regrets as i surprisingly to found out that avast is far better than avira :)

I too am am a refugee from Avira. Once I went to Avira V10, I couldn't share my printer anymore (regardless if the firewall module was installed or not). One of the WinXP Pro boxes came to a grinding halt (way too slow). I trialed and installed AIS 5 and am happy (will be happier once Avast figures out the problem with their firewall module and Perfectdisk boot-time defrag).

Well the big difference between avast and avira is mostly about the resources used on the system which makes people to like avast more with its light and effective protection against malware :)

That's what I think ;D
