It's amazing that people still don't realize the only way that you can prevent information you prefer not to be made public,
is to not post it in the first place. Sooner or later it will be available for those that are looking for the information.
Simply ask some of the politicians or, Ask Tiger.  ;D

I don't believe there is any true anonymity as proxies probably retain information on date, time, IP addresses as they have to know what IP address to send the requested data. So there would be a paper trail.

Nowadays you can find a lot of proxies made specifically for FACEBOOK  :(

I doubt them!

I just use proxies for reading stuffs that are blocked here like Christian websites and so on...

They're only blocked if you blocked them or use a site blocking service for other purposes which may have them blocked.

yep the Tor network seems to do what it says it's supposed to do: guarantee anonymity. This said I tried it once, just for fun as I don't use nor need a proxy: Tor makes your browsing crawl. And it's not just me, it's well known and acknowledged. See here for example: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo-tools/10198-does-tor-slow-down-your-internet-significantly.html

edit: to David >>> whether or not servers keep tracks of your IP on the Tor network for instance doesn't matter. You're connecting to tens of servers through encrypted connections, these servers redirecting you "randomly" to other servers. Who's gonna be able to track that, that's impossible. But there's another risk: security related to what you can get in return, infections etc...because each server has the ability to, as said, redirect "freely" ;D

True, it's really slow...
But there are useful addons, like torbutton.
So you can easily toggle between anonymity and speed. ;)
