Need help with Avast
« on: April 04, 2010, 09:02:05 PM »
OK yesterday, i saw that avast 5 was out. I used to have avast 4. So when i downloaded avast 5, and rebooted. Then i saw the BSOD flash and then it would keep rebooting, until i clicked safe mode. So I did a system Restore, to the time that avast made a point to when i installed avast 5. Did everything went to normal, but then I noticed that the Windows Security Center said that "Avast! antivirus 4.8.0 [VPS 000000-0] reports that it is turned off" But i can't find avast anymore. So I downloaded BitDefender, and it got rid of the message, but i really didn't like BitDefender so i uninstalled it. The message came back. So i tried downloading Avast 4.8 again, but the message won't go away. And i think it gave me Avast 5. And now avast says " Your system is not protected. Please use the FixNow button to start protecting your system" So i clicked FixNow button, but it doesn't do anything, I also clicked Start Program, but nothing still happens. Plz Help.

I'm using Avast Pro edition
(P.S) Nothing Works on Avast!

Try removing the program with the uninstall tool and reboot http://www.avast.com/en-eu/uninstall-utility
Then install again and reboot

Did it work ?

In addition to Pondus' post below is the BitDefender uninstall info/utility at:
http://www.bitdefender.com/KB333-en--How-to-uninstall-BitDefender.html

To avoid possible conflicts, want to make sure you remove all remnants as possible of security apps when uninstalling.

Wellcome

After Instllation avast in your Computer, You must Scann your Computer all. to make it full protection. ;)

But ???, If avsat does not Responce :-[, maybe the installation is not well or install not complete in your PC ::), you must first delete it then install avast again in your PC for one year then Scan your Computer. :'(
