Oh?
Wut kind of setting O.O?

Everything from firewall rules to custumization in each shield...

I guess we are going to be informed of these functionality when about ready for release
- seems developing new technology, so probably later rather than sooner (just a guess, again)
- here is some information

http://blog.avast.com/2010/02/04/avast-5-adnm-and-other-stuff/

http://blog.avast.com/2010/02/11/avast-5-sbc-part-1/

I have seen that but the relationship between remote control and silent installation is not that big as far as I can understand, furthermore it shouldn't require too much programming efforts and doesn't involve communication so it should (in theory) be fairly easy...

I tried to upgrade over the .462 version of Internet Security and it says there was an "error while changing the product configuration." What do I need to do? I have Windows 7 Starter as my OS.

Do you mean you've tried to upgrade from the AV to the suite (AIS) using the setup?
I think that due to the beta, you need to do an installation from the scratch (as the setup is the complaining about the configuration).

I clicked on the link provided in the first post of this thread. I need to completely uninstall first before I do this?

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

1. Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
2. Download the latest avast beta version and save it.
3. Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can't run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
4. Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1. If, for any reason, you can't run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after you've run it.
5. Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
6. Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro.
7. Check and post the results.

This is gonna sound stupid but the latest beta version is the link in the first post right?

I did this and at first it made my computer act up very badly. I tried to do a repair  it from te cntrol panel and it stopped at the Firewall stage and stalled there. Then I ran it in Safe Mode and tried the repair again and it gave a message that it couldnt repair the Firewall and I could continue with it, which I did. My computer works fine now but not sure about the firewall.

Did you have any other firewall before?
What does the avast Panel show? Is any shield disabled?

The same answer as is usually given, when it is ready and not sooner. This ensure there is feedback from those using the pre-release version and time to find and correct any issue/s found.

There is nothing stopping you from participating in the pre-release version if you are in that much of a rush.
