That's for CFP3 (which is a CIS predecessor) and is not really an uninstaller, but a script hacked up by a user to wipe the leftover junk. Anyway, thanks, the page looks useful.  ;)

BTW, mine installer certainly has a Repair option available. Again, YMMV  ;D

you got me on that one...I just checked and that's true (didn't scroll down last time  :-X ) ... I've had two or three broken AIS with a "state of inconsistency" special mention and "repair" wouldn't work (ie, wouldn't repair), so I just forgot it was there.

Installed on top of '462 on XP sp3, 32bit, running good. :)

Haven't tried '499 on my 7 64bit system, yet.

The latest version allowed me to install the avast! firewall. :) Thanks.
When I re-installed avast! 5 IS, I had to install it without the firewall after updating to the latest version,
I rebooted into safe mode and then was able to use the Change function to finally install the firewall.
( It would only allow me to do this in safe mode. )  (Didn't try disabling the self protection mode)

From the Help
Quote
Screen saver
With avast! installed, it is possible to run a scan even when your computer is not being used and your screen-saver is running. A small window is displayed inside the screen-saver which informs you about the scanning progress, i.e. about the number of scanned files etc.

If you want avast! to scan your computer when the screen-saver is running, you need to locate the screen-saver option in your computer's control panel and then select "avast! antivirus".

To add this scan to the list of pre-defined scans on the Scan Now page, go to the program "Settings" and check the box "Show special scans in avast! user interface". You will then be able to access and adjust the scan parameters as required.

In this version avast! is working excellent. Now, It's time to improve the heuristics detection and behavioral protection. That apparently are not working (at this time). I installed software like keyloggers and trojans (with my consent) and avast! heuristics or behavior protection not give any type of alert.
