Stop saying bad words lolz!
Oh what previous version of avast did you have?

If you just uninstalled it from control panel then yes it is normal to be like that for the previous version of avast 5 but for avast 4.8 I am not that sure of it!

If you already had avast 4.8 installed and installed 5.0 over the top of it, then it will retain the registration information from 4.8 so it can be used in 5.0.

So you shouldn't need to register and nothing to fix. Your copy is registered for another 5 months, I guess that was what remained of the 4.8 registration period.

Oh, so it's from the 4.8?
Because I have installed avast! 5 over 4.8

OK, I didn't know, thank you

Go to PROFILE then Modify Profile then Forum Profile Information then update your Signature: with information like my signature as this helps the helpers offer pertinent advice.

In Account Related Settings select Hide email address from public? to prevent scammers and spammers harvesting your gmail.com email address.

DavidR an avast! Überevangelist shows this information in his signature.

You're welcome.

It was there to try and make the update as painless as possible by retaining the original registration. When you get close to that renewal date you should get a notification. Now you can re-register using the avastUI whilst on-line and no need to wait for an email.
