Can avast home/pro run on Windows 2003?
« on: July 08, 2004, 03:34:58 PM »
Hi all,

Just my curiosity, can avast home/pro run on Windows 2003?
When I setup avast a Read me window says avast
can run on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003. But avast pro's info page
doesn't say anything about Windows 2003.

Thanks  :)

Unfortunatelly, it can't.
avast! Home/Pro cannot be installed on a server OS - and Windows 2003 is only server. I guess the info in the Readme isn't exactly correct.

I think the "System Requirements" pages for avast! Home and Professional are pretty clear about this...

maybe OP means the decription for the CLEANER, where it says this:

"To work correctly, the Cleaner requires administrator privileges when running on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 operating systems. " ;)

The Cleaner DOES run under Windows 2000/2003 Server.
