HI I just wanted to say that I updated to the lastested version of avast antivirus free edition.  I have not had any problems from day one until now.  Everything is working fine and completely secured.  I have avast antivirus free edition on my Windows Vista home basic system.

I would just like to say to avast staff to keep up the hard work.

Ps: I have used avast antivirus free edition software for about three years now.

Seems like your missing some kind of code package. Like Microsoft C++ Redistribute Pack or .net or something like that, I'm not sure what Avast is coded in.
Try reinstalling from scratch?

Some GUI problems here. Version 5.0.507 free.
PC specs:
Pentium4 3GHZ, 2 GB DDR, ATI X1650, freshly installed XP SP2, all latest drivers.
Tried full installation twice.

Are you running a 64bit XP?

Is 5.0.507 now an "official" release ?
It's showing up in the update panel so does this mean it's possible and OK to update through the GUI ?

You won't see any changes unless you send an email to yourself, you don't see any insertion in the copy in the sent emails folder. Only when it is actually send will it be inserted.

Thanks for the reply. But sorry I intended to say the option which spg SCOTT mentioned, "Automatically open the Scan Results when scan is finished".
I enabled/disabled this option and scanned some files, but Scan Results always appears. It seems this option doesn't work on my PC. :(

From what I can gather it is for pre-defined scans. So I tried a scan that will always give me a result (removable media = errors - not relevant)

When that setting is checked, at the end of the scan, the results will be displayed automatically.
