¿How register the program (free) in unattended installation?  ???
There isn't an unattended installation of version 5.

Have just given up on version 5 and installed Microsoft Security Essentials instead. After several days of trying to get version 5 to work I have now uninstalled it and gone to Microsoft for the first time ever. My problem was that each time I rebooted, the whole system would just hang. The only way that I could use Version 5 to was to use the Hibernate option. If I wanted to do a total reboot I would have to close down Avast and restart it after the reboot. I am using XP Home Edition.

Final straw was when the whole machine hung when I went into emaIl (I use Thunderbird) after leaving the machine idle for a couple of hours. I had to power off and the machine hung when I rebooted. This is after trying all the work-arounds that I could find for the various problems encountered.

Shame, as I really liked the look of the new version. I will try re-installing it in a few months time.

Very easy.open up the main program and select Settings in the right hand corner, select sounds and then uncheck  "enable avast sounds" then click ok down the bottom to apply the changes

All the events options below will grey out and all sounds will be disabled

Hi

I have a continual problem with version 5.0.507 where the program stops and I have to "fix now" because system is unsecured. It happens more on my Vista machine than my Windows 7 machine. It also brings up connection errors in Firefox.
Please advise how I can fix this.

Thanks
Bernard

Your question would require more information and that would be best done in its own topic.

- Please start a New Topic of your own as this will just confuse the topic (or get lost in this long topic) and we will try to help.

Awesome!

Installing over version 4 seems to be working. Installing from scratch doesn't work - tried many times, but didn't work. Instead, installed over 5. Works like charm. Welcome version 5.

Thanks

Some GUI problems here. Version 5.0.507 free.

does this bug persists after restart?
We could not reproduce this problem here, however we made changes in the drawing of radiobuttons+comboboxes.
please report it appears in the next update.

thanks,Yonatan

Same here, but I think this is not a bug... the window is minimized and move to the left corner on my computer, and this movement is natural in some applications.
However, your issue may see as a little strange behavior. (I found Minimize / Maximize button occasionally appears when I click minimize title-bar ::))

Anyway, welcome to the forums :)
