Avast firewall and FTP

I have the pro version of avast on my computer, I would like to set the firewall to "public high risk zone" but it blocks my ftp programs, i have set them up as allowed in the application rules, i have the the ip of the ftp server in the friends list, I have cussed and smacked the desk, anyone know how to get this to work without setting the firewall to medium risk zone?

may be you can try to add a rule in "packet rules" (firewall advanced settings, button at the bottom of the panel)...this said I've recently noticed that rules added there were not taken into account...a bug in this build I don't know, but try, could work for you

God I wish Sygate would not have sold out to symantec!
