AIS & AppGuard (OK)
« on: April 24, 2010, 09:08:16 PM »
I didn't see anything on the forum about Avast products & AppGuard, so I figured I would post something. AppGuard is a program I had long before I started using AIS. I am using AppGuard alongside AIS & so far on the RS220, all seems well. Truthfully, I was a little hesitant to install AppGuard again after switching to AIS because I thought there might have been a conflict of some sort.

The only thing I saw was a serious slowdown at startup when testing on the 600M (but that is a Pentium M at 1.6Ghz). The RS220 is a little slower than what it would be, but it's not intolerable per se.... I am thinking that maybe AIS & AppGuard would run even better on more up-to-date hardware.

While I don't see any conflicts right now, I am wondering: Would AppGuard be redundant/unnecessary, since I'm using AIS or does it look like a good combination?
(From looking at AppGuard's & AIS' product description pages, it seems that the two programs' features overlap *a little* but not entirely so, in the behavior blocking department.)

Your thoughts would be much appreciated. This is all for now.  :)    ~Kei

Hopefully, I have put this in the right place!
