Hi, can anyone point me at the options to unquarrantine received attachments within messages please? I am using outlook express.

Thanks in advance...sorry for not checking the FAQ's if this is already documented but the boss is pushing for me to go shopping! :'(

Midas,

If I understand you correctly, Avast put the "suspect" files into the Chest.

Right click on the ' A ball" and open up the Avast Anti-Virus.
Click anywhere on the main skin to open up the settings menu.
Open up the chest and look in the Infected files folder.
Highlight the file or files to wish to restore.
Go to the top bar, clck on File, then RESTORE.

This should take care of your dilemma.

Good Luck
 :)

Midas,

Need to clarify one thing....
It's a right click on the main user interface to open the settings menu.

Sorry about that.

Techie101,

Thanks for the response unfortunately not the answer for me in this case. I mistakenly thought this was an AV issue it is however an Outlook Express 6.0 problem.

What is happening is that for all attachments ( bar PDF's apparently), I am being denied access, these attachements  being classed as unsafe.  The messgae being, OE REMOVED ACCESS TO THE FOllOWING UNSAFE ATTACHMENTS IN YOUR MAIL: <FILE NAME>

I am currently looking for the parameter that sets this security up but with no luck as yet. I have tried the MS OE support web site and the onboard application help files and I am still looking, anyway once again thanks for your help.

Look at the option 'Do not allow attachments to be saved ...' in Tools -> Options -> Security.
