Avast 5 Anti-spam plugin changing email in outbox date to None
« on: October 25, 2010, 11:54:12 PM »
Hi,

Anyone else experiencing this problem with Outlook 2010?

It didn’t cause a problem until I actually received some email it marked as Spam and put in the Junk Mail folder, so it worked for a couple of days (or perhaps the Avast update this morning did it?).  Since then I cannot mark emails as sendable, they arrive in the outbox without a date showing as open.  No amount of opening the email in the outbox and pressing send to give it a date works.

I then went in to File>Options>Add-Ins and disabled the Avast Anti-spam module.  I then restarted Outlook and tried opening the email in the Outbox and pressing send.  It worked and showed the email as closed with a date on it on the Outbox and when I then pressed send/receive it sent it ok.

I then went back on to File>Options>Add-Ins and enabled the Avast ASnti-Spam module.  I then created a test email and pressed send to put it in the Outbox.  Problem back again, email showing as open status with no date.  So I disabled it again and problem fixed.

I have tried enabling and disabling the Avast anti-spam plugin several times and the behaviour is 100% repeatable.

I am strongly convinced the problem is with the Anti-spam module.

Tried uninstalling and re-downloading and re-installing.  That fixed it until I received some spam emails. As soon as I had emails in the junk box the problem reappeared.

Is there a fix?  Any ideas?

Cheers,
Paul

Yes, I'm having this problem and I'm not surprised you've taken so much time to outline the issue.

This issue is DRIVING me nuts!

I only recently purchased my license and wish I stayed with the free version, because I didn't have this issue before.

It's exhausting!  Like you I'm sure, I have to copy and paste every single email that goes to "Date None" just to get it to send.  I'm wasting what seems like hours per day :(

You have any luck resolving it?
