Newbie with a problem
« on: July 01, 2003, 04:08:12 AM »
Hi I am a relative newbie and have had problems with my computer crashing etc.  I run win 95 and just downloaded Avast 4 to try and solve my problems.  Something called JS:Seeker-B [wrm] was reported, I selected delete and was informed of success.  After rebooting the machine and scanning again, I found the same thing still there.  Can anyone help me please.

Thanks

Ernie

Hi, it is a Javascript Malware. You get "infected" if visiting an infected web page, only if you have Javascript enabled, of course. This seeker-thnigs chance often the "startpage" of IE and netscape, nothing really dangerous. Just delete it and do not surf suche pages anymore!:)

Here is a little description of it: http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojjethome.html

You can use google to get more information about it.
