This Trojan is a serious one.
« on: July 15, 2004, 01:54:24 PM »
Backdoor-CGT is a new form of a Trojan horse installed after e-mail
recipients using Microsoft Corp.'s Outlook e-mail program follow a Web
link embedded in an e-mail message. The Trojan horse is believed to have
infected thousands of systems on the Internet since appearing early
Tuesday, even though antivirus software and up-to-date versions of
Outlook are immune to attack.

Now we can't even open links without worrying. :'(

there everyware, if we keep worrying about them we would never be able to surf the web, just need to keep our firewalls/antiviruses/spyware scanners up to date and we should be fine.

It's weird though, last night I ran adaware / spybot search and destroy -> which found 0 items. I then ran PestPatrol which found 40. :( Pestpatrol is definitely an amazing program.

For me, 5 false alarms...
If you choose all options into Spyware Blaster (spyware + 'history' web traces) you can dig very deep into cleaning.  ;)

Lee, PestPastrol (not the free version) has an automatic remove tool  8)

Thanks for the report Bob, I am already getting a few calls at work from customers who are using Outlook and this info really helps explain to them what might be going on with their system. Thanks again. ;)

The nasties just keep getting nastyer. Somehow, we just have to persavere. Keeping your fingers crossed sometimes hepls. Sometimes, try crossing your leggs or your toes and if that doesn't work, PRAY. :)
