new to avast need help

hi guys,

not sure if i posted in the correct section but, ive just installed avast as it was recommended ny a freind, ive just began a system check and keep gettin pop ups in the bottom right hand corner saying threat has been detected, this is so doing my head in i know i have a bad system thats why im tryin avast but is there anyway i can stop the stupid popup until my scan of my system has finished if there isnt a way your tech guysshould maone lol anyway some pointers on how to disable the popups would be a massive help thanks

Check your computer for Malware with

Malwarebytes Antimalware http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
after install click UPDATE and run quick scan, click on REMOVE SELECTED to quarantine anything found

SUPERAntiSpyware http://filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/
Are cookies really spyware and are they dangerous?

If anything is found come back and post the scan logs here

thanks for your response ive tried to download this link http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ but it says the file is corrupted, ill try the others now

You may have a bug that does not want you to install MBAM

If you have something blocking the install, you can try running these first

1. you need to click the " remove selected " to quarantine the infections
2. you have sacnned with an very old database 3930, the latest is 4100
3. you have the old program 1.45 the new is 1.46
so run update and when you have installed the new run update again to recive latest database, then scan again
