Hey,

We're using also T-Online 5.0 software to connect to the internet (dial-up) and also to read the emails. The problem with Avast Home is that we can't download the emails as long as the Avast Internet Mail protection is active. As soon as I shut down this provider it works fine - but of course I'd like to haver the mail checked by Avast. Anyone got an idea on how to get Avast working properly with the T-Online 5.0 email programm? I checked the settings, but they seem fine (pop on port 110, smpt on port 25).

Note: Using another (better) email software is not possible as the user using this computer is used to this software and not really up to learning to handle another programm (my grandfather...).

Please post error message from the mail program.

None - it simply can't connect to the pop server. Or rather the whole mail application locks up while trying to connect to the server. The only way to end this is by killing the application via the task manager. If the Avast mail service is shut down it works perfectly.

Hello,

as I maybe saw some words which might lead to some misunderstanding:

German version of avast! Home Edition is available for more than one year now.

You may download it at http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupger.exe

If Alwil people see some need for more translation - just ask me, we do it well since more than 6 years now (so I hope *smile*).

Regards,
Christian
