T-Online email-accont

Hi,
i'm using more email accounts on my mail-software (no outlook).
I made the "Manual setting of mail protection" on avast!
When i conntect to t-online and try to receive all mails, only on the t-online mail-accont i get the message "server is unavailible".

What can i do to protect the t-online mail-account too?

This message means that avast cannot establish connection with the server. What is the address (and port) ? Did you type it correctly ?

After i read your answer, i checked my settings for T-Online. And they are the same as in the others.
Then i tried to receive my mails and it works!!!
 ???  :)

Could it be, that there was a timeout ?

T-Online ist ein grosser Provider, da kann das schon mal vorkommen. Denke aber daran, das du T-online Emails nur dann ueber die T-online Pop und SMTP Server verschicken und empfangen kannst, wenn du auch ueber T-online ins Internet gehst.
Aber ich tippe mal, das du ein Tdsl Nutzer bist. :)

Ich hatte bis jetzt das Antivirenkit (AVK) von GData benutzt. Hier funktionieren die Einstellungen für verschiedene EMail Accounts ähnlich.
Als EMail Programm benutze ich Gemail, also nicht Outlook Express, wegen der Sicherheit. Ich musste also nur in den jeweiligen Konteneinträgen den Benutzernamen etwas umstellen. Es funktionierten dann auch alle Konten bis auf das von T-Online. Ich habe es sogar mehrmals versucht und ich denke auch, dass ich mit T-Online verbunden war. Ich meine auch noch mich daran zu erinnern, dass ich dann nur für T-Online den EMail Scan ausgeschaltet habe (wieder auf den T-Online Server umgestellt statt auf 127.0.0.1) und ich dann wieder EMails empfing. Naja, komisch was ich damals falsch gemacht habe ?!

Avast! gefällt mir sehr gut, da es auch verschiedene EMail Konten scannen kann. Nur diese Einrichtung ist komplizierter wie bei AVK. Hier ist es schon aus dem Programm heraus ersichtlich, welche Einstellungen man in der Mail Software vornehmen muss und man nicht erst in der Hilfe suchen muss.

Gentlemen, please, use English. I understand it's much more convenient for you to communicate in your mother tongue but you're killing the idea of an open forum - believe it or not, but most of the people here really can't read German.

it was related to t-online and t-online is only avaible in german speaking country!;)

Well, I don't know how about T-Online, but e.g. T-Systems (member of T-Mobile) is quite ubiquitous (at least in Europe...).

Actually I can't. ;D
I mean, it's not under our management - it's done by a German (or Austrian?) guy outside the company and I really don't dare to guess how much time it's gonna get him to complete it.

Hey,

We're using also T-Online 5.0 software to connect to the internet (dial-up) and also to read the emails. The problem with Avast Home is that we can't download the emails as long as the Avast Internet Mail protection is active. As soon as I shut down this provider it works fine - but of course I'd like to haver the mail checked by Avast. Anyone got an idea on how to get Avast working properly with the T-Online 5.0 email programm? I checked the settings, but they seem fine (pop on port 110, smpt on port 25).

Note: Using another (better) email software is not possible as the user using this computer is used to this software and not really up to learning to handle another programm (my grandfather...).
