Stopping Outlook Monitoring
« on: May 27, 2010, 07:35:22 PM »
For debugging reasons I want to stop the Avast! add-in for Outlook.  I cannot locate it in the Outlook Trust Centre Add-Ins window.  Can anyone help me with this?

I am using Office 2007, Windows 7 and Avast! Ver 5.0.545

Thanks

Please note that there are 2 add-ins that run under Outlook. One is the antispam toolbar (icons) and the other is the background antispam. The first one enables you to decide what is spam and what is not and the latter one automatically flags incoming email as spam before it shows up in your Outlook. To disable them both under Outlook 2007 go to:

Tools > Trust center > Add-ins
From the drop down box select COM Add-ins and click Go. Untick avast! Antispam (asoutext.dll) and click OK.
From the drop down box select Exchange Client Extensions and click Go. Untick the avast extension (ashoutxt.dll) and click OK.

Hope that helps...
