System Secure/Unsecure
« on: May 31, 2010, 12:50:14 AM »
The icon on my taskbar states my system is not secure.  However, When I open up the Avast Interface, it clearly states my system is secure.  I have double checked everything and even run additional scans.  Everything checks out ok.
How do I correct my taskbar alert?
Thanks!!!

How long does the insecure icon tool tip message say there when the mouse is hovered over it ?

It is possible that it is just a little slow in getting some areas started, most likely the user Shields like the Web Shield and Mail shield. When you see the ! exclamation mark and triangle over the avast icon click it quickly and see if you can see which items aren't started or being reported as insecure.

If you aren't quick enough to do that, I wouldn't be unduly concerned as this is a very short time frame. I very occasionally have it there for a second or two.

DavidR is correct, in addition you may also have something else booting up PRIOR to Avast causing this temporary alert.  I have it too for a few seconds, and it is because my firewall is booting up before Avast, but all software plays well together and everything works fine for me.

If everything is working fine with you once your system boots up, then don't worry about it.  If you still have concerns, let us know.
