Well i fixed it by downloading the windows 7 from microsoft.com with my serial

Yeah I was looking too and I saw that Windows 7 can be downloaded if you pay but I didn't see where it could be downloaded free with a valid license serial. Maybe MS will let you do it if you contact and ask them. I did see that it's possible to make a copy of someone else's Windows 7 disk and install it with your valid serial key.

Well I knew about that for a while now, it's the downloading a disc straight from Microsoft just by providing a key that intrigues me.

yeah there's no such thing ... they never did that and never will. Downloading Windows from MS exists only for upgraders purchasing...an upgrade.

I think it's possible that they will allow that in certain cases if you contact them directly and state your case. It is not available without doing that as far as I can see.
